The geopolitical position of countries is constantly changing over time and under the influence of various factors such as wars, revolutions, changes in the international system and the world system, and changes in the balance of power. Iran has been one of the countries whose geopolitics has undergone many changes over the past four decades, the causes of which can be traced to a variety of domestic and foreign geopolitical factors. This article uses descriptive-analytical research method and library to study the trend of changes and developments in Iran's geopolitical situation in the period before and after the Islamic Revolution and the imposed war to be able to analyze and study in more depth how and causes of this trend. . The argument of the present article is that the process of geopolitical developments in Iran is very fast and in recent decades has been more influenced by the internal changes and developments of Iranian society and internal empowerment potentials and external and international factors have played a secondary role in this process.
